Change comes to the French Republic; Greek rebellion against austeritarians

 

Mr. Hollande has been elected new president from France after beating outgoing president Nicholas Sarkozy. On his opening speech after the victory was confirmed, the French socialist leader said austerity should no longer be considered the only option, adding that the French had chosen "change" after an estimated 52% of votes in Sunday's run−off.
